Jodi Swenson, BS, RN, a student in the Master of Science in Nursing Program (Community/Public Health Nursing Clinical Specialty Track) just completed the Emergency Medical Operations for CBRNE Incidents (EMO) course at the Homeland Security/FEMA Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, AL.
Emergency Medical Operations for CBRNE Incidents is a four-day course that prepares responders to effectively respond to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosive (CBRNE) or mass casualty incident. The four-day EMO course provides classroom lectures, extensive hands-on training, and culminates with a hands-on practical exercise that allows responders to implement the emergency-response knowledge and skills learned during the course.
Swenson works as a registered nursing in the emergency department at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.
